I go to weigh today and...
when will I stop hating the scale and not panic about weighing. I know I am doing what is right; drinking my fluids, walking, and eating right. I just can't get these thoughts out of my head. When will the thoughts change? I am so afraid to fail!

they did surgery on your tummy, not your head. the mental part of this journey was/is the hardest for me. Im 3+ years out, down 215lbs and STILL cannot shop for myself or by myself. its too overwhelming. if i didnt have Loralea, Lynette and Jenn in san antonio (cruise director julie) i would still be walking around in size 32W clothes. Didnt buy a scale until last year and yes i have anxiety about it too. i still see the fat girl in the mirror and have literally scared myself walking around the house in the dark and catching a glimpse in the mirror. Yes i know im a dork but we all knew that anyway lol.
Youre not going to fail.. you stated you were working your tool the right way and it looks like you have lost quite a bit. I suggest a counselor or shirnk or whatever to help you thru this.

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
Hello neighbor! I live very close to you.
I'm still pre-op but the best thing I have done for myself so far is to ignore the scale. I weigh once a week on Tuesdays at Weigh****chers for an official weight. Sometimes if I think I've had a few too many high calorie/carb days I'll weigh on Friday just to see how I need to plan my weekend but that's a guide only. Weighing every day was just too frustrating and as you say it was getting to the point that I'd panic at the thought!
I'm much happier now without the scale!

Thank you Ladies!! It is nice to know that people are out there holding my hand, even if it is on here. I did go weigh(a GREAT friend drove me in) and am down from my pro op of 313 to 268. My heaviest was 320. I got up on the scale and stood there waiting for the numbers to keep going up, it took a few secs to realize that it was not going any farther. I was so relived. YEA!! I now do not have to weigh again for 2 months. I am working out and walking and do not plan on weighing again till then... Thank you again!!!

Deedle,
I will be going to the support group meeting next Monday in Pasadena. I will look you up if that would be OK. I love to make new friends and it would be nice to have someone so close to maybe do lunch with. Thanks again and hope to see you there...
